CCTV Installation in Abu Dhabi

CCTV in Abu Dhabi is really two jobs. The first is a system that actually protects your property: cameras that cover what matters, images clear enough to identify someone, and a recorder that still holds the evening in question when you go looking for it. The second, for business premises, is a system that meets the requirements of the Monitoring & Control Center (MCC, which most people search for as “ADMCC”) and gets registered. Plenty of installers handle the first job cheaply. Far fewer take responsibility for both.

We handle CCTV installation in Abu Dhabi from survey to handover, across Abu Dhabi city, the Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD industrial areas, and Al Ain. Every quote is fixed and itemised, every system is handed over with its documentation, and one AMC can keep it running afterwards. The site survey is free.

What we install in Abu Dhabi

IP CCTV with NVR or VMS recording — dome, bullet, PTZ and ANPR cameras matched to the site rather than to a standard kit

MCC-compliant design, submissions, registration and documentation for business premises

Remote viewing on iOS and Android, multi-site in one app, set up with the default passwords changed

Video analytics where the site benefits from it: line crossing, intrusion zones and number-plate recognition

Maintenance and AMC, including the records that inspections and certificate renewals ask for

Upgrades and takeovers of existing systems, including ones installed before the current requirements applied

Why choose AQLON in Abu Dhabi

Choosing a CCTV company in Abu Dhabi comes down to who will still answer the phone after handover. You get local engineers, one team for CCTV and the rest of the low-current scope, fixed itemised quotes, and documentation at handover.

For main contractors and fit-out teams looking for a CCTV contractor in Abu Dhabi, we price from your BOQ and drawings, like-for-like, and flag scope gaps at the start. If CCTV is one line in a wider package, see our ELV contractor in Abu Dhabi page, or our checklist for choosing an ELV contractor.

CCTV for Warehouses, Factories, Hotels and Other Abu Dhabi Premises

Two buildings with the same floor area can need completely different systems. Here’s how the design changes by premises type.

Warehouses and logistics yards

Warehouse CCTV installation in Abu Dhabi is mostly a perimeter job with a building in the middle. In Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD the risk sits at the gate, in the yard and at the loading docks as much as in the racking aisles: vehicles arriving at night, trailers parked against the fence, goods moving between dock and truck. A good design puts a camera on the vehicle gate that can actually read a plate. It gives the docks their own coverage, and places aisle cameras at a height that sees faces rather than hard hats.

For a sense of scale: our warehouse deployment in Dubai ran to 146 Hikvision cameras — 104 fixed bullets, 14 domes, 18 motorised domes and 10 AcuSense units — all in GI conduit (see the 146-camera warehouse case study). Open yards often need trenching to reach fence-line poles, and our 40-plus camera heavy-equipment yard in Jebel Ali included exactly that civil work.

Factories and workshops

Factory CCTV installation in Abu Dhabi has to survive the site. Dust, vibration, heat and wash-down areas decide the camera housing as much as image quality does. An outdoor camera on a sun-facing Mussafah wall needs an operating-temperature rating that holds through August, so check that line on the datasheet, not just the resolution. Inside, the priorities are usually entrances and exits, stores, high-value process areas and the yard. Place cameras so a passing forklift doesn’t block the view every few minutes.

Hotels and hospitality

A hotel CCTV system has two audiences, here or anywhere in the UAE. Guests should feel safe without feeling watched, and the security team needs usable evidence when something happens. Coverage concentrates on entrances, the lobby, lift lobbies, corridors, F&B outlets, car parks and back-of-house routes such as service corridors and receiving areas. It never goes inside guest rooms or other private spaces. Hotels also tend to need integration: CCTV tied to access control and the security room’s monitoring, with clear rules on who can view and export footage.

Offices and retail

Office systems cover reception, entrances, corridors and server rooms, designed around how people actually move through the space. Retail systems cover entrances, the sales floor and the tills, and the image quality has to hold up as evidence as well as deter.

Villas, buildings and compounds

Villa and compound CCTV covers gates, driveways and perimeters, gives the family phone viewing, and places cameras so they watch your property rather than your neighbour’s. Residential buildings add lobbies, lifts, corridors and parking, scaled to what the building is required to cover.

How Much Does CCTV Installation Cost in Abu Dhabi?

The honest answer depends on five things. Anyone quoting a firm price before seeing your site is guessing.

  1. Camera count and type. A two-bedroom apartment and a KIZAD warehouse with yard coverage are different projects, and dome, bullet, PTZ and ANPR cameras carry different costs.
  2. Resolution. Moving from 2MP to 4K changes the camera price and, less obviously, how much storage the footage needs.
  3. Cabling and containment. The labour is usually in the routing, not the mounting. Finished ceilings, external runs and occupied premises add work; a simple villa run doesn’t.
  4. Storage sized for retention. Business premises must keep footage for the MCC-required minimum, and that requirement sizes the recorder more than the camera count does. It’s also the line cheap quotes quietly leave out.
  5. Site condition. Cabling that tests to standard can be reused, so taking over an existing system often costs far less than starting again.

One caution: very cheap packages are usually priced without compliance — no registration, no documentation, storage too small. For a villa that may not matter. For a business, the gap between the package price and a system that can be registered gets paid later, usually after an inspection, with rework on top.

A proper quotation shows each part separately: cameras, recorder and storage, cabling and containment, labour, configuration, testing, documentation and compliance work. That’s what lets you compare two quotes line by line. Our guide to CCTV installation cost in Abu Dhabi covers all seven cost drivers and what to check before you sign.

How Many CCTV Cameras Do You Need?

A fair rule of thumb before the survey confirms it:

PropertyTypical rangeWhat drives it
Apartment2–4Entrance, living areas, balcony access
Villa4–8Gates, driveway, entrances, perimeter, garden
Shop / clinic4–8Entrance, sales floor, till or cash area, stockroom
Office6–12Reception, entrances, corridors, server room
Warehouse8–16+Perimeter, yard, gates, docks and racking aisles
Hotel / building8–24+Lobby, lifts, corridors, parking — set by size

Two caveats stop this being a shopping list. For business premises, the real minimum is set by the coverage requirements for your premises classification, not by preference. And placement matters more than count: six cameras placed well outperform ten placed badly, which is what the survey is for.

Our CCTV Installation Process

01 · Site survey — free. We walk the property and map coverage, cable routes and the recorder location. For business premises we establish your classification, because the requirements flow from it.

02 · Design and fixed quote. You get a camera plan, a device schedule, storage sized for the required retention and, where approval is needed, submission-ready drawings. Then an itemised quotation against that design.

03 · Approvals where required. We prepare and submit the paperwork and handle the back-and-forth with the authority.

04 · Installation. Tidy cabling and containment, phased around your operation. Trading shops and occupied offices are done zone by zone, with disruptive work outside business hours.

05 · Commissioning, handover and AMC. Every camera is checked, recording and export are verified, phone viewing is set up and the documentation is handed over. An AMC can follow to keep it all working.

A word on timelines, because you’ll see bold promises elsewhere. A villa really can be done in a day. A registered business system takes as long as the approval takes. What we control is getting the submission right the first time, and we’d rather tell you that at the quote stage than surprise you after it.

Is CCTV Regulated in Abu Dhabi? (MCC / ADMCC)

For business premises, yes. CCTV compliance in Abu Dhabi runs through the Monitoring & Control Center. The Centre was established in 2011 and, since 2019, has operated under the Supreme Council for National Security. Its services set out approval in three layers:

  • the company doing the work is licensed and classified;
  • the people doing the work are individually licensed;
  • your premises receives a compliance certificate once its system meets the standard.

The certificate is renewed, so compliance is something you keep up rather than a one-off stamp.

The technical rulebook is the National Guide for Video Surveillance Systems, whose third edition is dated 22 September 2026. Which of its requirements apply to you depends on your premises classification. That’s why our survey establishes the classification before anything is designed.

Licensed companies appear on the Centre’s public register, so you can check any MCC-approved CCTV company in Abu Dhabi yourself before comparing prices. Submissions, inspections and rectification notices are covered on our ADMCC-approved CCTV company in Abu Dhabi page. The approval system itself is explained in our guide to ADMCC approval.

Homeowners: these requirements centre on business premises. For a private villa, placement still matters — cameras should watch your property, not your neighbour’s.

Already Have CCTV? Upgrades and Takeovers

Many Abu Dhabi sites don’t need a new system. They need the existing one brought up to standard: analogue cameras on an old DVR, a recorder too small for the required retention, three brands from three installers, and nobody who still has the admin password.

Upgrades follow the evidence. We test the cabling and keep what passes. Cameras that still produce usable images stay on the wall. The recorder and storage usually come first, because that’s where most systems fall short. Analogue cameras move to IP where coverage or evidence quality needs it, and a hybrid recorder can run both side by side during the switch. As a CCTV upgrade company working across the UAE, we price upgrades against what’s actually wrong, not a full replacement by default.

If the problem is registration or a rectification notice rather than hardware, our ADMCC approval and registration page covers that path.

CCTV Maintenance in Abu Dhabi

Most CCTV failures don’t happen at installation. A camera gets knocked out of position, a hard drive dies quietly, or a lens hasn’t been cleaned since the last dust storm. CCTV maintenance in Abu Dhabi under an AMC covers:

  • scheduled preventive visits: cleaning, focus and position checks, recording and export tests, drive health and firmware;
  • fault response;
  • an up-to-date record of the system, which is what a compliance renewal asks for.

The same agreement can cover access control and the rest of your low-current systems.

Frequently asked questions

How much does CCTV installation cost in Abu Dhabi?

It depends on camera count and type, resolution, cabling and containment, storage sized for the required retention, and the condition of the site. That’s why we quote after a free survey, not before. Our quotations are fixed and itemised. For business premises, be wary of packages that don’t mention retention, documentation or registration.

Do I need MCC (ADMCC) approval for CCTV in Abu Dhabi?

Business premises generally do: the system is designed to the MCC standard for your premises classification, installed by a licensed company, and certified once it complies. For a private villa, the survey confirms what applies. You can check any company’s licence on the MCC public register.

How long does CCTV installation take?

A villa or small shop is usually done in a day, and offices typically take one to three days depending on cabling. Registered business systems run to the approval timeline. You get a realistic schedule with the quotation.

How many CCTV cameras do I need?

Villas typically run 4–8 cameras, shops and clinics 4–8, offices 6–12, and warehouses 8–16 or more. For business premises the minimum is set by the coverage requirements for your classification. A free survey gives you an exact count and layout.

Do you provide CCTV maintenance in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. We offer preventive maintenance visits, camera health checks, fault response, and AMCs that keep the records inspections and certificate renewals ask for.

Can you upgrade an existing CCTV system?

Yes. We audit what’s installed, reuse cabling that tests to standard and cameras that still perform, and usually start with the recorder and storage. Analogue systems can move to IP in stages.

Do you cover Mussafah, ICAD, KIZAD and Al Ain?

Yes. We cover Abu Dhabi city, all the main industrial areas including Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD, and Al Ain, with local engineers and a free site survey wherever your premises is.

Can I view my CCTV cameras on my phone?

Yes. Secure remote viewing on iOS and Android comes with every system, set up properly rather than left on default passwords. Multi-site businesses see every location in one app.

Which CCTV brands do you install?

Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch, Axis, Hanwha Vision, Uniview and others. We recommend the best fit for your site and budget rather than pushing one manufacturer.
