Project Case Study
A 146-Camera Hikvision CCTV Installation for a Dubai Warehouse
Large warehouses fail on coverage in predictable ways: racking creates corridors cameras can’t see past, docks and yards get treated as afterthoughts, and the recorder is sized for the camera count someone first imagined — not the one the site actually needs.
This Dubai warehouse project took the opposite approach: a full coverage design first, and then the equipment to deliver it — 146 Hikvision cameras across four device types, cabled through GI conduit in the areas that demand mechanical protection.
The Device Schedule
Coverage problems differ across a warehouse, so the camera types do too:
| Device type | Quantity | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed bullet cameras | 104 | The workhorses — aisles, racking runs, perimeter lines and docks |
| Dome cameras | 14 | Open areas and junctions needing wide, discreet coverage |
| Motorised domes | 18 | Adjustable coverage for zones that change as the warehouse works |
| AcuSense bullet cameras | 10 | Analytics-driven detection at the points that matter most |
Total: 146 cameras, plus the supporting recording and network equipment to run them.
GI Conduit and Cable Pulling
A warehouse is a hostile place for cable: forklifts, racking work, vibration and heat all take their toll. In the areas where cable needed mechanical protection, we installed GI (galvanised iron) conduit and pulled the camera cabling through it — slower than clipping cable to a surface, and the reason the system will still be intact after years of warehouse life.
Every run was terminated, tested and labelled. At this scale — 146 devices — labelling isn’t housekeeping, it’s the difference between a ten-minute fault fix and an afternoon of guesswork.
Commissioning at Scale
A 146-camera system is commissioned camera by camera: aim, focus, recording, and the analytics devices tuned to their zones. The result is a warehouse where the aisles, docks, perimeter and high-value zones are covered by design — not by hope — and where the coverage plan is documented for whoever maintains it next.
Planning a Warehouse System?
Warehouse CCTV is a design problem before it’s a hardware problem — racking-aware coverage, protected cabling and storage sized for the required retention. See our CCTV installation in Dubai service, our SIRA compliance page for regulated premises, or book a free site survey.
