How much does CCTV installation cost in Dubai?
The honest answer: it depends on five things, and anyone quoting a firm price before seeing your site is guessing.
1. Camera count and type. A two-bedroom apartment and a warehouse with yard coverage are different projects — and dome, bullet, PTZ and ANPR cameras all carry different costs.
2. Resolution. 2MP to 4K changes the camera price and, less obviously, how much storage the footage needs.
3. Cabling and containment. The labour is usually in the routing, not the mounting. Finished ceilings, external runs and occupied premises all add work; a straightforward villa run doesn’t.
4. Storage sized for retention. Business premises in Dubai must retain footage for at least 31 days, with spare recording capacity beyond that. That requirement — not the camera count alone — sizes your recorder, and it’s the line item cheap quotes quietly leave out.
5. Site condition. Existing cabling that tests to standard brings the price down. Takeovers of old systems often cost far less than new builds.
One caution worth stating plainly: very cheap CCTV packages are usually priced without compliance — undersized storage, no documentation, no registration. For a home that may not matter. For a business premises, the gap between the package price and a compliant system gets paid later, usually after an inspection, and usually with rework on top.

How many CCTV cameras do you need?
A fair rule-of-thumb before the survey confirms it:

Two caveats stop this being a shopping list. For business premises, the real minimum is set by SIRA coverage requirements for your premises type, not by preference. And placement matters more than count — six cameras positioned well will outperform ten positioned badly, which is exactly what a survey is for.

03 · Installation. Tidy structured cabling and containment, phased around your operation. Occupied offices and trading shops are done zone by zone, with disruptive work scheduled outside business hours.
04 · Commissioning and handover. Every camera checked, recording and export verified, phone viewing set up on your devices, and the documentation handed over — not promised.
05 · Maintenance and AMC. Preventive visits, fault response and the maintenance records inspectors ask to see. A system that isn’t maintained drifts out of compliance quietly; an AMC is what stops that.

Business CCTV in Dubai is regulated, and the CCTV installation requirements are specific: what your cameras must cover, the recording quality, footage retention of at least 31 days with spare capacity, the documentation you must hold — and who is permitted to install and maintain the system. A note for homeowners: SIRA’s regime targets commercial premises — your villa system isn’t subject to the same rules. Placement still needs care: cameras must respect neighbours’ privacy, and recording shared or public areas has legal implications. We advise on this during the survey.

The process is the same every time: audit what’s there, keep what works, fix what doesn’t. Cabling that tests to standard gets reused. Cameras with adequate coverage and image quality stay on the wall. What typically needs attention is the rest — dead cameras nobody reported, a recorder sized for a fortnight when the requirement is 31 days, and documentation that never existed.
