Project Case Study
Two Automatic Gate Barriers, Delivered End to End in Abu Dhabi
A gate barrier looks like a simple product until you install one. The barrier itself is the visible tenth of the project — under it sit foundations, power, control cabling and coordination with everyone else who uses the entrance.
This Abu Dhabi project delivered two automatic gate barriers end to end: civil works, power and cabling coordination, installation, testing and handover.
More Civil Than It Looks
Barriers live outdoors, get hit by heat and dust, and take a physical beating from daily operation — so the groundwork matters more than the brochure suggests. The project included the civil works and foundations each barrier needs to stay aligned and reliable, plus the coordination of power supply and control cabling to each barrier position.
Entrance works also mean working around a live site: vehicles still need to come and go while the entrance is being rebuilt, so the works were sequenced to keep the site operating.
Installation, Testing and Handover
Both barriers were installed on their prepared foundations, powered, cabled and commissioned — raise/lower operation, controls and safe behaviour tested before handover. The client received two working, maintainable vehicle entry points rather than two boxes and an invoice.
Barriers are also rarely the end of the story: the same entrance can later carry ANPR, intercom and access-control integration on the infrastructure this project put in place. This installation was delivered as part of the full scope we offer as an ELV company in Abu Dhabi — barriers, CCTV, access control and cabling under one team.
Planning Vehicle Access Control?
Gate barriers, bollards and vehicle entrances are part of our gate barrier systems and perimeter security scope — and for regulated Abu Dhabi premises, they’re designed alongside MCC-compliant CCTV. Book a free site survey and we’ll look at your entrance as a whole.
